Prerequisites
Before completing the steps below, please ensure you have Administrator access to both the Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Portal) and the Power Platform Admin Center.
Register the Application
Log In to Entra Admin Center
Log in to the Microsoft Entra Admin Center.
Create New Registration
Navigate to App Registrations then + New Registration.
Fill Registration Details
Register
Click Register.
Generate Credentials
Copy Application IDs
Once the App is registered, copy the Application (client) ID and Directory (tenant) ID from the Overview page and save them temporarily.
Create Client Secret
Navigate to Certificates & Secrets then Client Secrets then New Client Secret.
Configure Secret
Copy Secret Value
Click Add. Immediately copy the client secret "value" and save it temporarily.
Note: The value is only shown once. If you lose it, you will have to create a new secret.
Get Environment Details
Access Power Platform Admin Center
Log in to the Power Platform Admin Center.
Select Environment
Navigate to Environments. Select the environment containing the data Milemarker needs to access.
Copy Environment URL
Locate the Environment URL in the Details page (e.g., https://orgname.crm.dynamics.com) and save it temporarily.
Authorize the App in Dataverse
Navigate to Application Users
In the same Environment settings, go to Settings then Users + Permissions then Application Users.
Add New App User
Click + New App User.
Configure App User
App
Click Add an App, select "Milemarker Data Integration"
Business Unit
Select your root business unit
Security Roles
Assign appropriate role with Read access to all required entities
Send Credentials to Milemarker
Compile the following credentials and send via Password Link:
Send to connect@milemarker.co with subject line: "Microsoft Dataverse Credentials"
Important Reminder
Please use the email client_role@milemarker.co when setting up Milemarker's user credentials.
